It will remind you of the six key attributes necessary to develop a high

functioning team.

hared goal. A successful team

is committed to the

achievement of the goal.

Individual members are engaged

and motivated. They share in the

successes and take responsibility for

missteps for the

good of the entire team.

I

nterdependence

.

Successful teams

need all of its members. Team members

draw on their strengths and support

the contributions of others. The

vast experiences and expertise

of each team member results in

an environment where the final

product is vastly superior to the outcome that would have been

reached by an individual.

ake-up

.

The composition of the team is essential to its success. Teams

need diversity to fill various roles and each team member needs to be

given expectations based on their role. The composition and size of a

team needs to be appropriate for the mission. Successful teams have

an engaged leader, subject matter experts, and a supporting cast of

other people who have skills that complement one another.
