One Candidate . . . One Page . . . One Shot!

Resumes don’t get candidates hired . . . mainly they serve to screen people out!

Now that you have determined your brand, interests, targeted your job

aptitudes, researched opportunities in your area of interest, studied different

markets or industries in terms of who is hiring and who is not, narrowed down

specific employers, your next step is to inventory your credentials, so that you

can talk intelligently about your past accomplishments and potential worth.

The creation of a resume is a task that most people dread, because it itemizes

the sum total of your professional career in one document, typically on a single

page!

The end result produces two responses:

1. You get really excited and are proud of your accomplishments when

you see your finished resume.

2. Seeing your credentials reinforces the fact that you have not done

your best work, have spent time in unfulfilling occupations and

wasted precious time.

Let me remind you that it is not where you start, but how you finish. Regardless

of how you initially feel about your professional summary to date, there is always

the opportunity to improve yourself and build credentials that will provide a

strong sense of accomplishment.

So what is a resume

? A resume is really a digest of your

qualifications that inform the employer of

3. What you have done
