Checklist for the 21

Century Superstar

With all the changes brought about by the emerging global economy,

increasing frequency of career changes and mandate to control and manage

one’s own career, here are my thoughts regarding what makes a superstar

in this new era:

1.

Smart, educated and informed

(21st century superstars understand you can have

more degrees than a thermometer, but if you do not remain informed on your

industry, employer, department or product/solutions)

2.

Technologically proficient

(21st century superstars save time by investing in their

knowledge of technology and the incredible value provided by the Internet)

3.

Articulate

(21st century superstars practice or join groups, for example,

Toastmasters, to master the ability to speak in public, or at least to large groups)

4.

The ability to be decisive and not afraid to make decisions

can be wrong more often than they are right, but they learn from each decision

and keep swinging!)

5.

A willingness to take risk

concept of no risk, no reward!)

Act on conviction
