The level of the role that you target is also going to have an
effect on the amount of time you need to land that position.
The more prestigious the position, the more time it’s going to
take you to find and secure it. It is easier to find an entry-level
job simply because there are more of them and the skills
required are less demanding. So persevere. The swift do not
always win the race; sometimes the winners are those
individuals who keep on running.
You have learned that it is advisable not to quit your current
position until you have discovered one more suited to your
talents. It is easier to get hired if you are employed than if you
are unemployed. The perception on the part of some
employers is that if you don’t have a job, there may be
something wrong with you. So try to conduct your search while
you’re still working and have a steady means of income. It will
make things easier and put less financial pressure on you.
