If you have attended one of my speaking

engagements or seminars, you know firsthand

why I have the reputation as one of the most

passionate and enthusiastic presenters ever to

hold a microphone. Quite frankly, I get

downright loud and excited! I am

that

passionate about helping others understand

and achieve their career calling.

But believe it or not, at one time I was

extremely nervous about speaking in public!

Before I would get ready to speak I would

adopt the same pattern.

First, I would start sweating, my heart would

beat, I would envision a loss of confidence,

picture ridicule, etc. I processed every

negative emotion possible and thought about

all the terrible things that could happen and

psyched myself out. I would start slurring my

words, lose my concentration and become

consumed with fear to the point

of total loss of confidence! To

obtain this

emotional state,

I had to repeat

this pattern

each time!

“You cannot live on yesterday’s standards and expect to be

competitive today!”
