Section 3 – Goal Setting
List experiences in school, in your career, or in another area of life in which you have
achieved a worthwhile goal or felt excited about an accomplishment. Examples to get
you thinking include: learning to drive a car, losing 10 pounds, beating a tough sales
quota, settling a major family feud, etc.
Accomplishment 1:

______________________________________________________________________________
Accomplishment 2:

I chose this because _________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________
Accomplishment 3:

Next: Go back and think about why you were pleased or felt great.
This exercise is designed to link reasons
with your goals; the “why” behind the
“what.” First, examine accomplishments,
and ask why you chose that goal to
accomplish.
Hint: The use of the word “excited” in
the above text is an indicator that
emotions are involved.
