Three Keys to Strategic Interviewing
1.
Present yourself as a unique and compelling candidate. Identify
your unique value proposition (UVP).
2.
Differentiate yourself from other candidates who seek the same
position through the “Prove it” technique (Don’t just say it . . . prove
it with a fact or example to make your statement real!)
If you are in sales, document your sales record. If you drive a
truck, cite your delivery record. If you are a teacher, quantify
your ability to empower students. If you are a social worker,
recount stories of self-sufficiency or helping clients overcome
barriers. If you are have an IT background, detail how you saved
your previous employer money or improved revenues through
your unique contributions.
