The Five Interviewer Personality Types

There are

five

basic personality profiles that interviewers

possess.

For consistency’s sake:

1. Laid Back Linda

Approximately 10% of interviewers have this

profile.

Traits include apathy, negativity, cynical attitude,

distracted, and sometime pre-occupied with their

own challenges. By all means, do not get caught

up in their toxicity, but rather focus on getting

them excited about you joining their team.

2. For Certain Cindy

Approximately 10% of interviewers have this

profile.

Traits include having a clear understanding of

what they want from an applicant, a keen

knowledge of skills and abilities needed to fill the

position and an inflexible approach to

compensation and salary negotiation.

“Take it or leave it” could be their motto.

3. Analytical Arnold

Approximately 25% of

interviewers have this profile.

Traits include a focus on

quantifying value, detail,

accuracy, and being concise.

If you cite an accomplishment

on your resume or verbally

communicate an

achievement, document via

statistics or numbers or else.

These folks will catch your

mistakes and hate typos! When

thinking of this

profile, think accountant,

attorney, bean counter,

engineer, banker, etc.
