2.
Can you see yourself pursuing your calling with this
organization?
After doing your homework, information interview,
meeting people
in the lobby, and meeting the interviewer, is this
where you want to pursue your calling. You have options. Are
these the kind of people
that you see yourself becoming socially
active with? Do
they share
your values? Or are your goals or skills
different to the point that you won’t be comfortable?
3.
Is there a match?
Do you understand the role well enough to
make a decision? The interview process should confirm that
match. Use the
interview as an opportunity to sell yourself and
market your potential and capabilities. But also use it as an
information-gathering session.
4.
What does the interviewer care about?
Remember to make the
interviewer like you. Be interested in what they have to say. Have
a
smile on your face. Be enthusiastic. Remember their name.
Listen
intently when they’re talking. Don’t be afraid to take notes.
Talk highly about other people or past employers. Don’t talk
negatively about
your former employers or your former boss.
Don’t make excuses about
your shortcomings. Talk in terms of
their
interest.
5.
Did you establish an emotional bond?
Be sincere and make the
other person feel important, establishing a camaraderie and
common bond. If they can see you as a cost effective value and
they
like you personally, that will go a long way to your
acceptance.
